Welcome! My name is Annie Jacobs and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Utah. I graduated from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA with a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Professional Specialization and a certificate in Trauma studies. I completed my undergrad from the University of Utah where I received a bachelors in psychology. I have over 3 years of experience working with individuals who struggle with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and those who struggle with substance abuse. I have also worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician for 12+ years and I am very familiar with different medications. I am also well-versed in Holistic treatment modalities as well.

My approach and counseling style: I am a very person-centered therapist and will naturally weave in CBT/DBT, different forms of cognitive restructuring, Internal Family Systems, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing techniques to help my clients discover their Core Self and internally heal from past traumas. I am direct, but gentle when giving feedback. I believe the reason we participate in certain behaviors is to meet underlying needs that are both known and unknown, which can lead to emotional distress (such as panic attacks, binging behaviors, or depressive symptoms). My goal is to help you understand WHY you are behaving in the way that you are and to help you process any negative emotions that can arise.
